David Walker

President, ABS Consulting and COO,
ABS Group of Companies, Inc.

David Walker is Chief Operating Officer of ABS Group. He is responsible for the operational performance of ABS Group's subsidiary companies, ABS Consulting (including Genesis Solutions) and ABS Quality Evaluations (ABS QE). Walker is also President of ABS Consulting, which provides professional services in the areas of Safety, Risk and Compliance, Technical Inspection and Verification, Enterprise Asset Management, Organizational Performance Management and training services to the Marine; Offshore; Oil, Gas and Chemical; Power; and Government sectors.

Previously he served in a variety of roles with progressive responsibility within ABS Group, including Senior Vice President for Public Sector, Vice President of Technology and Vice President/General Manager of a division within the Risk Consulting Practice. Walker's technical background includes more than 25 years supporting clients in risk management, security vulnerability assessment, process safety, loss prevention, incident investigation/root cause analysis, system and manufacturing reliability, and asset integrity management. His experience covers several branches of the federal government as well as companies in transportation (especially maritime and rail), chemical and hydrocarbon processing, energy, pharmaceuticals, forest products, consumer products, semiconductors/electronics and other major manufacturing operations.

Walker earned a master's and bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program. He was an instructor for the Process Safety Institute, the System Reliability Institute, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the University of Tennessee's Reliability and Maintenance Center and the University of Dayton's Center for Competitive Change.
