This course introduces hazard analysis techniques for identifying and assessing the hazards of various activities, processes, procedures and equipment in the maritime industry.


WHat will i learn in this course?

Course lecture and practical workshops provide participants with an understanding of risk principles (i.e., the building blocks needed to effectively assess risks) and details of process steps needed to affect comprehensive job safety and hazard analyses (JSA and HAZID).

The course provides participants with the foundation needed to perform most risk assessments that are needed by a maritime company’s Management Of Change (MOC) program.

The course applies material contained in ABS Guidance Notes on Risk Assessment Application for Marine and Offshore Oil and Gas Industries (Publication #97) and ABS Consulting Marine Safety Tools for Risk-based Decision Making (ISBN 0-86587-909-5).
