ABS Group Affiliate RMC Joins U.S. National Cyber Director, Texas Governor at Launch of Project Watershed 250
Pilot program focused on developing cybersecurity capabilities to help protect water and wastewater systems
(San Antonio, TX) – RMC, an ABS Group Affiliate, joined Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, U.S. National Cyber Director Sean Cairncross and Texas Cyber Command for the launch of Project Watershed 250, which aims to secure the critical infrastructure of the state's water utilities.
Project Watershed 250 is a federal-state-private sector initiative designed to assess and strengthen cybersecurity across Texas water and wastewater systems. Texas was selected as the first state for the program, which pairs federal resources and private sector technical expertise with state and local knowledge. The Texas pilot is designed to serve as a model other states can adopt to advance their own water infrastructure defenses.
"As water and wastewater systems add digital controls and connectivity, the cybersecurity challenges grow with them. Understanding that exposure and building programs to address it is the kind of work we do every day for commercial and government clients, including in the water, power and other utilities sectors. That is what makes critical infrastructure initiatives like Project Watershed 250 worth getting right," said Vince Kuchar, President of RMC.
