Ms. Brittain is a Senior Principal Engineer at ABS Consulting, bringing over 20 years of expertise in the refining and chemical manufacturing industries. Her career has been dedicated to Process Safety Management (PSM), with a strong focus on engineering, implementation, compliance and project management. Combining a robust technical foundation with exceptional interpersonal skills, Ms. Brittain has become a trusted leader in her field.
Ms. Brittain is a recognized subject matter expert in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA). She has facilitated nearly 100+ studies throughout her career and holds certifications as a Certified HAZOP and LOPA Practitioner. Her extensive experience includes HAZOP and LOPA facilitation, PSM program development, process safety training, auditing and root cause investigations. She has also supported the design and implementation of PSM programs, including software solutions for PHA and Management of Change (MOC), as well as management systems for incident investigation and tracking at both site and corporate levels across multiple organizations.
In addition to her technical expertise, Ms. Brittain has experience as a former member of industrial Emergency Response Team (ERT), where she gained hands-on experience in industrial firefighting, HAZWOPER training and incident command responsibilities.
Ms. Brittain holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University and a Master’s degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix.
