Jerry Collinsworth
Lead Investigator
Jerry Collinsworth is a Lead Investigator and Course Instructor with ABS Consulting, bringing more than 20 years of experience in hazard analysis, incident investigation, and root cause analysis. His expertise includes blast effects on structures, blast-resistant design, and blast testing.
He has performed vulnerability assessments and impact analyses for clients in the process industry and for federal agencies including the GSA, DoD, and DHS. Jerry has also led investigations across petrochemical, energy storage, and offshore sectors, including work on several high-profile incidents for the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board.
In addition, Mr. Collinsworth has deep expertise in incident scene control, evidence recovery and preservation, investigative testing, and data analysis. He currently manages ABS Consulting’s Blast Testing Services, overseeing the research, development, testing, and certification of blast-resistant components, chambers, and buildings. This work gives him practical insight into system failure mechanisms and structural response under extreme loading conditions.
