William Anderson
Senior Principal Engineer; ABS Consulting
William (Bill) Anderson is a senior principal engineer at ABS Group with more than 35 years experience in process design and process safety of chemical, pharmaceutical, and refinery industries. With 20 years design/startup experience and leading more than 300 PHA/LOPA studies he has a wealth of PHA, LOPA and FS experience. He is the primary instructor for ABS Group’s courses on LOPA and Functional safety (SIS) classes.
Mr. Anderson helps clients understand and manage risk by leading process hazard analysis and layer of protection analysis reviews. He has also led design teams, engineering reviews, PSM Audit teams, and SIL studies in the chemical and refinery industries. He retired from the U.S. Army Chemical Reserve Corps as a Captain.
Mr. Anderson received his B.S. in chemical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 1987. He is a registered P.E. in the state of Alabama and was certified as a TUV Functional Safety Engineer in 2010.
